About Ras Kikadini

Ras Kikadini is a recently restored beach home, set amongst mature tropical gardens on a 12-acre sanctuary with a private beach. It is home to indigenous forest, tsuni antelope, dwarf mongoose, monitor lizards and countless birds. The private beach cove, where you can swim also hosts Green Turtle hatchlings. The main house sleeps up to 11 people, in 3 bedrooms and a loft/ office with 2 single beds and a stunning view and sea breeze. Decorated in style with the 50s theme we inherited it boasts one-off furniture designs and photography with a fusion of African retro and colour.

One sea view bedroom is en suite with a large double bed and an extra optional single couch bed. The second sea view bedroom has a large double bed and uses the bathroom in the hallway. One garden view bedroom is en suite with two queen size beds. All bedrooms have concertina doors opening onto a garden patio in the garden. All the bathrooms have powerful hot water showers by an efficient and modern solar system. Each room has fans, and open windows allowing the cooling sea breeze.

The loft is accessed by the stairs in the living room and has two single beds and a desk at the window with a stunning view from the first floor. The loft opens onto the roof terrace offering another space to enjoy the view. Children and babies are accommodated with cots and baby bath provided on request.

To the north of Diani beach sits the little-known Tiwi beach, an old-school beach location with few hotels and sparkling white beaches. The reef protects the rock pools, full of crabs and fish and fun stuff for you to explore at low tide. Tiwi remains a precious throw-back to the old days of the Kenyan coast – a piece of paradise to lose yourself for a few days and re-centre, drink tea at sunrise and talk to your house manager about the best locally caught fish to order for your lunch, then kick back and watch the ocean. There’s really nothing else to do until it’s time for a cold sundowner after an evening stroll along the perfect beach as the waves turn purple and the stars come out.
