Lamu Collection
A visit to Lamu, on the Northern part of the Kenyan Coast, is one of the best experiences the country has to offer. Landing at the airstrip on the mainland you take a boat taxi over to the island and experience Swahili culture like nowhere on earth. The island is steeped in Swahili history – spices, slaves and sultans – and the global connections this ancient trading hub has shaped. Transport on the narrow lanes is by donkey, or by boat around the island. Whether you want to stay in Lamu or Shela town and get swept away on culture and history or escape down to near-deserted Kizingoni beach and unbelievable skies and water sports, Lamu is the place and we have a house for you. Add to your experience by going deep-sea fishing off Lamu, or venture to Kiwayu. We can also set up overnight dhow experiences, sleeping on the deck of the traditional Arabian ship in decadent comfort and watching the night sky as you fall asleep…. Lamu really is incredible.
