About Khuzi Cottage
Next to Swimbo House is the lovely Khuzi Cottage. Sleeping 6 people in 3 double bedrooms Khuzi Cottage is the perfect spillover for larger groups coming to Swimbo House or if you want to have a cheaper option in Watamu. The beautifully (newly renovated) cottage has a lovely outdoor living area on the veranda and includes kitchen and dining areas, and sunbeds in the garden. All the rooms come with mosquito nets and fans and there is WiFi at the house.
Going into the cottage on the left is a double bedroom with a double bed with mosquito nets and a standing fan shelving area window overlooking the sea. Wardrobe and bedside tables and lights. On the right is a twin bedroom with mosquito nets storage for your clothes with wardrobe and shelving. Further down the hallway on the left is a communal bathroom with shower, loo and sink. Straight ahead leads to the the double ensuite which is One double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. It has a double bed with bedside tables, a mosquito net, floor fan, wardrobe and shelving with a table and chair and mirror leading to an ensuite shower room with sink and toilet separated by a curtain.
In bustling Watamu the question is more what can’t you do from your doorstep? The KWS marine park that stretches the length of Watamu beach offers snorkelling, kite surfing and stand-up paddleboarding, or you can visit the amazing team at Local Ocean Conservation Trust to find out how they are protecting turtles or check out the whale shark migration. On land, it’s a short hop to the amazing Gede ruins, or learn more about smaller spectacular members of Kenya’s wildlife at Mida Creek, Butterfly Farm or BioKen Snake Centre, both hubs of conservation excellence. A short drive away, Arabuko Sokoke Forest is home to the amazing birdlife and some secretive elephants. Keep yourself fortified with endless meal options at Pili Pan, Medina Palms, Ocean Sports or the Crab Shack. If you fancy yourself as a serious fisherman, or you want to learn, Ocean Sports has some of the best deep-sea fishing boats on the coast. Malindi is half an hour away from Watamu, with stunning shopping and restaurants in the town, as well as the Driftwood Club. Whatever your coastal dream, we have a house for you
