About Enkaji Resort
Enkaji is a unique family run boutique resort, located in the midst of the Ngong hills. Enkaji, meaning ‘Home’ in Maasai language, is a home away from home built organically from the resources of the land and with respect and appreciation of the land.
Be ready to be transported by the spectacular views and sunset to a place where you can unwind and relax. Please be advised that this is not a place for loud music and parties. Your hosts live on site in their family home and manage the resort themselves.
We have 7 cottages, all offering the at most luxurious comfort in the midst of the overlapping Ngong hills. Each of our rooms are designed to give you the best views, each with their own private gardens. All the rooms are on self-catering basis, with a fully equipped kitchen, open plan sitting area, king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom and daily room cleaning. Baby cots are available upon request. Each cottage is stocked with clean drinking water, essentials and snacks to give a start to the self-catering experience. Organically built and sustained, Enkaji entirely runs off solar power and borehole water. WIFI is also provided in all the cottages and reception area.
If you are looking for a relaxing luxurious getaway tucked away in nature and in close proximity to the city, Enkaji is the ideal place. Please be advised that this is not a place for loud music and parties. In addition to each cottage having its own private lush garden, there are six additional ones in common areas. Take a book from the reception library and pick a spot under a shady tree, or just sit back and watch the wide array of bird species who visit to bath and drink from the water bowls. We also have resident Baboons, Elands, Gazelles, Zebras and Hyenas who come by the property fence every other day.
Lake Magadi is approximately 70 kilometers away. The drive itself is worth a day trip, with a relaxing scenic route between the rolling hills. Or go for the unique experience of swimming in the natural hot springs.
As you drive passed Ngong town towards Kiserian and Kisamis, you start to see the beautifully dressed people of the Maasai tribe. One of the very few tribes that have retained their traditions and lifestyle. They are highly respected for their courage and fearlessness, and ability to co-exist with wildlife. Come and experience the fascinating culture of the Maasai community from the Kenyan and Tanzanian border.
