Casa Shuma is the perfect blend of barefoot, safari, treehouse feeling mixed with absolute luxury. 6 gorgeous en -suite bedrooms or pods are adorned with sensational decoration, luxury mattresses, sheets and towels and mosquito nets. Shuma has a fully equipped kitchen and an amazing chef, called George, there are also multiple chillout areas for you to take it easy. Is that not enough, how about an enormous swimming pool for you and the kids to take it easy and you have access to snorkelling equipment to take down the private path to the ocean and enjoy the legendary Watamu Marine Park.
Casa Shume is 2nd row in Watamu but gets the lovely sea breezes and the house has been amazingly designed to keep it cool all year round. When you arrive at the house there is a started pack of condiments including coffee, tea, loo paper, washing up powder, mosquito spray etc to get you started (you will need to replace thee items before you leave) and we can arrange for other things to be bought for you before you arrive, as well as getting the freshest sea catches on a daily basis. The owner has also installed an amazing reverse osmosis machine, giving amazing unlimited drinking water. Casa Shuma really is the ideal holiday retreat, get out of town, get out of contact and enjoy some down, if you can’t, don’t worry, there is high speed, unlimited wifi at the house as well. Looking to get away for a longer term staycation, yup, Casa Shuma is available for that as well 🙂
In bustling Watamu the question is more what can’t you do from your doorstep? The KWS marine park that stretches the length of Watamu beach offers snorkelling, kite surfing and stand-up paddleboarding, or you can visit the amazing team at Local Ocean Conservation Trust to find out how they are protecting turtles, or check out the whale shark migration. On land, it’s a short hop to the amazing Gede ruins, or learn more about smaller spectacular members of Kenya’s wildlife at Mida Creek, Butterfly Farm or BioKen Snake Centre, both hubs of conservation excellence. A short drive away, Arabuko Sokoke Forest is home to amazing birdlife and some secretive elephants. Keep yourself fortified with endless meal options at Pili Pan, Medina Palms, Ocean Sports or the Crab Shack. If you fancy yourself as a serious fisherman, or you want to learn, Ocean Sports has some of the best deep-sea fishing boats on the coast. Malindi is half an hour away from Watamu, with stunning shopping and restaurants in the town, as well as the Driftwood Club. Whatever your coastal dream, we have a house for you.
